Product Description

Monitoring With Keyloggers is Easy:

KEYKatcher keystroke recorders are much like tape recorders in that: a tape recorder records sound & a keylogger records keystrokes. The 256k KeyKatcher records more than 256,000 keystrokes about 160 pages.

There is no software to install in order to use a KEYKatcher keylogger. As soon as the KEYKatcher is properly plugged in, it's ready to record. KEYKatcher will record every keystroke typed on your computer, including: Email, Chat, Instant Messages, MySpace Messages, Keyword Searches, and Web Addresses!

Retrieving Recorded Keystrokes

  1. When you want to see what your keylogger has recorded simply open Microsoft WordPad* or any other text editing program on your computer.
  2. In a new document, type your KEYKatcher password (download user's guide for instructions on customizing your password).
  3. After the password is typed correctly the KEYKatcher will display a menu. The menu gives you the option to play back the recorded keystrokes. The keystrokes will appear in the document right before your eyes! (See Tutorial page for an example).

Every KEYKatcher keylogger gives you several options for searching through the data. NETPatrol automatically searches for www, com, net, http, etc. to quickly identify web addresses. Custom Search allows you to perform keyword searches for any phrase you want. When you perform a keyword search the KEYKatcher will only show content that matches you search - saving you the time of reading through all the keystrokes.

Want even more features? Check out the new MAGNUM keylogger. It has the highest memory capacity of any other hardware keylogger on the market and is loaded with features never before available with hardware keyloggers!

General Use

Applications range from parental monitoring to business investigations to computer forensics. The KEYKatcher works with any PC operating system. Since it stores keystrokes in a FLASH memory, you can record on one computer, unplug it, then read it out on another computer. This also means that no data will be lost in the event of a power outage, which makes the KEYKatcher a great backup device. When you're ready to see what the KEYKatcher has recorded, open your word processor, type in your password, then choose the 'view memory' option. The KEYKatcher will 'play back' every keystroke that's been recorded. If you're concerned with internet usage, use the NETPatrol search function to identify all web addresses that were typed.

How to use the KeyKatcher:

Step 1 | Accessing the Menu:

It is easiest to think of the KEYKatcher key logger as an ultra-small tape recorder for your keyboard (James Bond never had anything this cool). Everything that is typed will be recorded in its internal FLASH memory.

With the KEYKatcher key logger plugged in, simply open WordPad (or any other word processor/text editor) and type your password. The default password is "keykatch". This may be the easiest computer product you've ever owned!

As soon as the password is typed, the KEYKatcher responds with a menu. Now you have full access to the device. Notice that no software or drivers have been installed on the system - KEYKatcher is a hardware key logger - this allows for quick installation and ease of use.

Step 2 | View & Erase Memory:

View memory: To see what your key logger has recorded type the '1' key for "View Memory". All the typing will now be played back including e-mail, chat, instant messaging, web addresses and more. After the memory contents are fully displayed in your word processor, you may wish to save it as a file to your hard drive. To do so, follow the same procedure you would in saving any other file prepared in WordPad. If there is nothing of interest, it is wise to erase the memory, so you don't have to review it again in the future.

Erase Memory: Hitting the number '2' key will erase the KEYKatcher memory (example not pictured).

Step 3 | Change Password & Disable Recording:

Change Password: The 'Change Password' option allows you to set a custom password for your KEYKatcher keystroke recorder. The password should be something which would never be typed during normal operation, such as "abxr45tl". Choose a password which is unique, and will ONLY be typed when you want to access the KEYKatcher. After entering your new password twice, the KEYKatcher will respond with "Password updated" if both entries match. The example on the left shows the password changed to 'florida'. Disable Recording: This menu option is used to temporarily disable the device. It will read as "Disable recording" during normal operation. This enables you to use your PC, and not record keystrokes, without having to

Step 4 | Using NETPatrol:

NETPatrol*: NETPatrol quickly identifies all internet addresses which have been typed. Typing a "5" will cause the KEYKatcher to search the memory for all occurences of "http", "www.", ".com", and ".net". The example on the left shows "www.yahoo.com" being flagged. It is flagged twice, once for "www" and once for ".com" Search for String: This option allows you to search the memory of the KEYKatcher for any keyword (example not pictured). When the KEYKatcher key logger finds a match, it displays the match along with the surrounding text. If this raises your curiosity, you may choose to view the entire contents of memory in that region.

The KEYKatcher is incredibly easy to use. It has provided critical information and insight for applications in homes, businesses, and even computer forensic investigations. Whichever product you choose, rest assured that you are buying the easiest and most reliable way to monitor your PC. KEYKatcher hardware key loggers were awarded the prestigious PC Magazine Editor's Choice Award.
